Without a doubt, Jesus is the most amazing man that has ever walked the earth. There is so much we can learn from everything He did. How could we not follow Him if everything He did was part of a perfect plan, designed by God himself, with the sole purpose of rescuing His creation.
“And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me’” (Matthew 25:40).
For Jesus, the little ones were very important; the kids who run in our meetings, who sometimes make a lot of noise and do not let us pay attention or who, perhaps, are seeking it. These, who He calls “my smallest brothers”, definitely caught the Master’s attention to such an extent that the Bible mentions how they ran to be with Him and how Jesus asked that they not be held back. It seems that the enemy’s strategy is to place barriers to hide the image of Christ from the children and pre-teens. God’s greatest desire is that we help them approach Him.
For this reason, we must understand that we will reap abundantly if we sow in the new generation of our church.
What things do you need to be a Hero for this generation?
- Be creative when sharing the message: It’s amazing how the enemy has sold the kids the idea that God is boring and outdated. Let’s present Jesus in a practical and attractive way! Use visual aids, plays, puppets, songs, etc. Your imagination is the limit! However, limit your creativity to the way you present the message, never to its content. Do not give in to the temptation of modifying the message with the intention of making it more “attractive”.
- Get on their level: The best way to teach a child, is to become one. Jesus said in Matthew 18:3 that “unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven“. This should be the standard for the brave ones who have accepted the challenge of rescuing the little ones. We must know their world, know what they like, how they speak, understand that all the stages they are going through are different and that is why they need to be dealt with in a special and different way.
It has been 13 years since I, a total stranger in my opinion, received this call. Jesus knew me and I was sure of what He wanted to do with me. At the beginning, like some of you, I felt I couldn’t, that I didn’t know how and that I wanted something else. But God only needs a heart that accepts His call. He does not need us to be professionals in something to call us, because then we would think it was by our own merits. His power is perfected in our weakness! He needs us to be instruments in His hands to do the work. He qualifies us and fills us so we can fill this generation that is so in need of God’s love. Thirteen years ago I accepted His call and I only have gratitude towards Him for every child and pre-teen I have seen grow in their purpose. That makes it worth it all. It is very much worth it to serve the Lord in this ministry!
